Wifi Access and Eduroam

by matthew on May 9, 2011

We have been working with our IT services to set up wifi access for everyone at the symposium. That said, if you have an academic affiliation you may also be able to access our campus wifi services through a relatively new initiative called Eduroam. This is an agreement allowing faculty, staff and students at member institutions across the world to get “light” wifi access on each other’s campuses. Here are lists of member institutions in Canada, the US, Australia, and Europe. To specifically access wifi at Concordia using Eduroam, follow these instructions.

UPDATE: Please note Adrian’s additional comments, below.

Be good to let people know that if you already have an eduroam wireless profile then you will not need to create a new one, though you may need to still set up a new profile for Concordia in your network settings and tell it to use your eduroam wireless profile. Oh, and you would then log in using your home institutions details (username/password combo).

It doesn’t look like my school, University of Michigan does not participate in Eduroam. Is there and alternative?
